Welcome to AWS Techpreneur—a dedicated space I’ve created for AWS Services Partners (formerly known as AWS Consulting Partners) and aspiring entrepreneurs in the AWS ecosystem. I’m Paul Duvall, an award-winning author and former AWS executive with over 15 years of cloud innovation experience and a deep commitment to DevSecOps. My journey began in the Electronic Data Systems (EDS) mailroom, where I taught myself to code, completed the two-year Systems Engineering Development (SED) program, and progressed to developing large-scale applications for governments and enterprises. Recognizing patterns in software development, I authored Continuous Integration: Improving Software Quality and Reducing Risk, a Jolt Award-winning book that propelled my work and insights to a broader audience.

Building on these foundations, Rob Daly and I launched Automation for the People, LLC, later rebranded as Stelligent Systems, LLC—the first company solely focused on Continuous Delivery and DevOps on AWS. Bootstrapped from the ground up, Stelligent grew to over $15 million in annual revenue, achieving AWS Premier Partner status and helping nearly 100 enterprise customers implement robust DevOps practices on AWS. My contributions earned recognition as an AWS Hero, and the business was successfully sold in 2018. I later joined AWS, as an executive, where I advanced cloud security and DevSecOps, supporting numerous customers and collaborating with remarkable teams.
